Canibad is also called “Hidden Paradise or “Little Boracay”. Its according to my opinion the nicest beach in Samal. Its not sand but ruble but its white. The place has many owners. There is a choice out of different cottages for rent. All are in native style. Don’t expect any fancy resorts at Canibad. There is one nicer resort with air conditioned rooms. I was guided around by the owner who is German. Nice place. I have no idea about prices. There are no restaurants or bars. You are lucky if you find some cold drinks at Canibad. Local fisherman pass the beach early morning to sell fresh fish. You have to look around where to grill and cook. Locals are very friendly and willing to help. They are not over-pricing. The charm of Canibad is incredible. No internet, almost no cellphone signal, electricity came just 2 or 3 years ago. Perfect place for relaxing and escape from the real world.
Canibad is perfect for diving and snorkeling. At the big rock at the right side of the beach you can see a huge collection of soft and hard corals. Be careful because the current at Canibad can be strong. So strong that there is no way anymore to swim back. You will drift behind the corner and arrive at the beach of Aundanao. This is not a big problem but then you have to walk all the way back.
